The Faroe Islands are located in the north Atlantic ocean between Iceland and Scotland. It is a small archipelago of 18 islands with Streymoy being the main one. There are no places that are more than 6 kilometers (4 miles) from the ocean. There are around 1200 kilometers (800 miles) of coastline.
Water temperatures vary from 6 C in winter to 10 C in summer. The waters around the Faroe Islands are among some of the most pristine, beautiful and colourful oceans on this planet.
